How to use TRONSCAN: wallets, USDT transfers and resources

A step-by-step guide to finding an address, checking USDT and resources, reading a transaction result and preparing details for support.

Before you start

TRONSCAN is an explorer for public TRON blockchain data. It does not show your GasFree4you account balance or an exchange’s internal ledger.

Prepare a public wallet address to inspect an account, or a TxID (transaction hash) to inspect one operation. Find the hash in your wallet’s transaction history.

  1. Open https://tronscan.org/ and verify the domain. Use TRON mainnet for regular transfers, rather than a test network.
  2. Paste the full address or TxID into search and open the matching result.

Step 1. Check the address and balances

Copy the address from your wallet’s TRON receiving screen. Compare the full address on the account page; matching only its beginning and end is insufficient.

  1. Check TRX, the network’s native coin, separately from USDT.
  2. Find USDT in the token holdings and inspect its contract, not just its name or icon.
  3. Compare with Tether’s official TRON USDT contract: TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t.

Step 2. Check Energy and Bandwidth

Find Energy and Bandwidth in the address’s resource information. Check what remains available after usage, rather than just the total limit. Energy covers smart-contract execution and Bandwidth covers transaction data.

  1. Open the address that will send USDT.
  2. Check available Energy after rental fulfillment. Refresh if needed and check your service order status.
  3. Check Bandwidth separately; Energy alone does not cover every resource requirement.

Step 3. Find a USDT transfer

Search the TxID from your wallet or exchange withdrawal history. Without a TxID, use the address’s token transfer history and match USDT by time, amount and direction.

Look for TRC-20 transfers. The general transaction list can also contain contract calls and resource delegation.

  1. Open transaction details.
  2. Compare the hash, time and token transfer record: sender, recipient, amount and USDT contract.
  3. If there are several token transfers, identify the relevant record.

Step 4. Read the result

Check confirmation and execution result separately. Inclusion in a block does not guarantee a successful contract call. Look for SUCCESS and the expected USDT transfer record.

A successful transfer to the correct recipient is an on-chain result. Exchanges may credit deposits later according to their confirmation rules.

  1. If not found, verify the full TxID and network. Refresh later and ask the sender whether the transaction was broadcast.
  2. For an error such as OUT_OF_ENERGY, investigate resources and execution spending limits before retrying.
  3. Check the first result before sending again to avoid duplicate payment.

Step 5. Read usage and fees

Inspect Energy usage, Bandwidth usage and the actual TRX fee separately. Energy units are not TRX amounts; resource shortages can burn TRX.

Fee Limit, when shown, limits contract execution spending; it is not the actual fee paid. Failed operations can also consume resources.

Energy rental payment is separate and may not appear in the USDT transaction fee. Include rental cost and actual network fees when comparing expenses.

Practice with an existing transfer

Use a transfer already in your wallet history. No new payment is needed for this exercise.

  1. Search its TxID.
  2. Check confirmation and execution result.
  3. Compare the USDT contract, sender, recipient and amount in the token record.
  4. Inspect Energy, Bandwidth and actual TRX fees.
  5. Open the sender address to check resources available now; they can differ from the balance at transfer time.

Do I need to connect my wallet?

No connection is required to view balances, resources or transactions. A public address or TxID is enough. Connecting and signing are for wallet actions; this tutorial only covers viewing data.
